“Ramblin’ Richard” – American Patriotic Songs Over the Ages

New Ipswich Library

“Ramblin’ Richard” is coming back to the New Ipswich Library, and you don’t want to miss his show!

This interesting and entertaining program covers American patriotic songs over the ages. The hour-long program is “illustrated” with music and will include narrative introductions and descriptions of all of the songs played – their background, history, and relationship to the times in which they were popular.

Over the past two years, “Ramblin’ Richard” has been invited to appear at nearly 75 libraries, historical societies, and museums in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. A sample from his World War II program may be found on-line at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaOUioJsptE&feature=youtu.be.

Our flood control dams are essential to prevent flooding downstream. All of of our earthen dams are susceptible to erosion and failure would be catastrophic. I was surprised to see these tracks along the top of the dam.

It was a cold and rainy day on Earth Day, but folks came out to pick up trash along the roadsides in New Ipswich. Blue bags can be seen all through town. Hopefully it will remain litter free.

Town wide clean up day will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9am – 12noon at the Town Office. Bags are available in the lobby at the Town Office during normal business hours.  Please email parksandrec@townofnewipswich.org with the roads you are cleaning so we can schedule pick ups for the bags.
